Busy, Busy! 2

Jeez Louise! What a month!

Right now months are feeling like weeks, weeks like days and days like hours at the rate we are going.

Big News:

I'm a finalist in the Gulf Coast Film Festival for "Out in The Garage"! Tonight is the awards ceremony, so we will see what happens! The film has also been submitted to 2012 Sundance!

“The Rodder’s Journey” a documentary made by hot-rodders for hot-rodders.”

For centuries man has strived to go faster, to be “great”, to be remembered, to leave a legacy, to be a legend.
See the men and women of the hotrod culture today and the revival of the “traditional hotrod”. From the cars they drive, the music they listen to and the homes they live in, hot-rodding is a true culture.  This first segment is designed to be a tribute to those who enjoy weekends and evenings in their garage building and working on their hot rods. The film is composed of iconic still life’s recognized and appreciated by this culture cut to an indicative blues riffs often heard quaffing through the neighborhood where these enthusiasts live and breathe their passion.

Stay tuned as we unfurl a 5 part web series, leading up to the full-length documentary “The Rodder’s Journey” (working title).

The subject matter is the "hot rod kulture" hot rods, customs, pin-ups and pop art of 50's icons of music, the silver screen and the dawning age of television. The pop art will be mixed media, limited run prints. The photographs will be printed using the dibond process. This process involves archival ink injected into metal, in this case, brushed aluminum. Dibond gives the photograph a unique luster with vibrant, yet iridescent color, almost a tintype feel.  A very exciting venture using dibond printing for this subject!

Got my first ad in the Houston Production Guide!

I was able to film "Texas Raiders" a WWII B-17. We also interviewed 3 WWII Veterans and us and the Veterans flew in the aircraft. I was lucky enough to sit in the nose of the plane and shoot taking off and the flight, a tremendous amount of fun!

Thank you for Amber Noel and Dad (Craig Loper) for getting BTS shots!

We also got a GoPro camera with all the bells and whistles! I shot with my HDSLR system, and worked some kinks out with my system. I've decided to get a couple of upgrades for the system before my next shoot, (next weekend).

We are still going great guns at Sam Houston. Studio C is pretty much wrapped up with a new TriCaster 850 Extreme and studio A is in full force with upgrading the system, starting with a full lighting upgrade to all LED lights.
Pictures to follow with the installation, (we've been so busy, we're running lean on taking photos!)

(850 Extreme setup for a remote shoot)

More to come, stay tuned!!
